• Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE/Sleeping Sickness) has infected record numbers of horses in 2003.*
  • The disease tends to run in 10-year cycles.
  • EEE is highly fatal, with a mortality rate of up to 90% in some areas.*
  • EEE is spread by mosquitoes, which may also carry West Nile virus. It is possible for horses to be infected with both diseases.
  • Vaccination for West Nile virus will not protect horses from EEE, nor will an encephalitis vaccine protect against West Nile.
  • Horses need both the West Nile-Innovator™ vaccine, and an Innovator™ encephalitis vaccine, for maximum protection against both mosquito-borne diseases.

This vaccine is a valuable component of Equine Wellness Rewards 2004.
